German Turkish actress Meryem Uzerli attended BIAF on July 28th to receive the Best International Actress award for her work in the popular Turkish series Hareem Al Sultan which has 400 million fans in 70 countries around the world. She attended the festival with her fiancé Alp Ozcan, her manager Dany Lyons and her Middle East Agent & Publicist Gisele Baykal. When Meryem stepped out of the car to walk the red carpet a large group of fans and press crowded around her but she understands how affectionate people in Lebanon are and how excited they are to see her that she tried to answer everyone’s questions and take photos with all the fans. After BIAF, everywhere she went in Beirut people asked her for a photo and she took one with every fan who asked never saying no. After her great experience in Beirut it looks like it won’t be her last time here as she intends to work on many more projects such as the launching of her own cosmetics line in the region…
Meryem was very happy during her stay in Lebanon and enjoyed the warmth and love everyone here showed her everywhere she went. She found the women in Lebanon to be very beautiful, elegant and feminine that after looking at many dress options she decided to wear a dress from Lebanese designer Ziad Nakad, and stunning jewelry from Mouawad Jewelry. Meryem wanted to dress beautifully for such an elegant occasion in order to respect the festival and people in Lebanon even though she is a much more natural and casual person but she enjoyed the experience of dressing up like women do in Lebanon for such occasions. Makeup artist Colette Iskandar used natural colors but wanted to highlight her beautiful big blue eyes. Celebrity hair stylist Tony Sawaya worked on the hair also being natural to go with her elaborate dress!
After 3 very eventful fun filled days we don’t think, we know Meryem can’t wait to come back to Lebanon again and we look forward to her next visit!
BIAF may have set the record for the longest red carpet in the world but Meryem set the Guinness Book of Records for most photos and selfies taken!
